Start Line

The race begins at precisely 3:00 PM at the end of the East Pier. Being a Pursuit Race every yacht is allocated it's own start time. Expect an hour of sail by starts. Yachts then sail toward Balscadden Bay and out to a set course.

Finish Line

The final leg of the pursuit concludes back at the East Pier. The handicap system was already pre set at their start times so the fast boats will now have caught up. Expect an action packed finish..

Harbour Details

Spectators will be guided through the race by a professional sailor with a PA system at the Start/Finish Area.

THE VIEWING EXPERIENCE

Where to watch??

All down the East Pier will give great views of the race area. The course is designed to be just as engaging for spectators. The Start/Finish area will promise lots of action.

 MEDIA COVERAGE

Experience the heat of the pursuit from every angle. Our full on-the-water media team will be capturing the action with high-definition drones and on-board cameras, bringing the race closer than ever before. This will be played on a huge outdoor screen after sailing, all the images will be also available to all boats for free!!

Join the Pursuit

Tradition Meets Velocity

"The race will be conducted Pursuit style, using a staggered start sequence based on a custom Velocity Prediction Program. Unlike a traditional fleet start, boats will be assigned a unique starting time, with the slowest-rated boats departing first and the faster "Scratch" boats in hot pursuit. The format eliminates the congestion of a crowded starting line and shifts the tactical focus to a thrilling, real-time chase across the course. This first boat to legally cross the finish line is the winner, giving an immediate and transparent result for both sailors and spectators"
